Christmas lights ready to shine

Months of preparation will culminate at 9.30pm this Saturday (December 11) when Ashmore Crescent resident Brian Oakes turns on his spectacular Christmas lights.

The much-anticipated Warkworth display will include a surprise this year.

As well as more than 30,000 lights programmed to twinkle in time to some favourite Christmas music, Brian will introduce a laser light display this year.

Inspired by the Winter Festival, the laser lights will also be programmed to music and atmospheric smoke.

Santa is also to make an appearance sometime over the next fortnight and donations from visitors will be given to Warkworth Wellsford Hospice.

Other residents in Ashmore and Northwood Close are also expected to have displays of their own.

Brian’s lights, at 31 Ashmore Cres, will be on from 8.30pm to late up until New Year.

Visitors are asked to use the Covid-19 QR code to scan in and to practise social distancing.
