Warkworth will light up this weekend as the Mahurangi Winter Festival of Lights returns, bringing live entertainment, family activities and dazzling light displays to mark the start of the school holidays.
The free community event will be held on Saturday, July 4, from 3pm to 9pm, across Wharf Street and Baxter Street.
Visitors can enjoy a range of attractions including live music, a tunnel of lights, a disco dance floor, a snow machine, food trucks, amusement rides, ITSS Engineering angel wings for photos and a laser light show.
The festival is free to attend, thanks to funding from the Rodney Local Board and support from local business sponsors. Food and refreshments will be available to purchase from food trucks, while cash is recommended for amusement rides.
Organisers say the event is designed to bring a little winter magic to Warkworth and the wider Mahurangi region as families begin the school holiday break.
