Sheep farming for profit will come under the microscope at a Beef + Lamb NZ field day at Tapora next month.
Totally Vets director and production animal consultant Trevor Cook will be at Brad Douglas’s farm at 599 Run Road on Tuesday, October 14 to discuss weaning, growing lambs, ram selection, tupping weights and more.
“Sheep are there to earn you money, and they will, but you have got to set them up for success,” he says.
Cook will make a return visit to the farm on February 18 to check attendees’ progress. The open day starts at 10.30am and will run until around 2.30pm.
