The Martins Bay Holiday Park was the scene of the annual Women’s Fishing Legends Competition recently.
The event offered participants the chance to compete across several categories including snapper, kingfish and other species. Strong catches were recorded throughout the day.
In addition to the main fishing categories, organisers added a range of other activities and prizes.
Highlights included mystery weight snapper awards, youth prizes and spot giveaways, alongside crowd favourite competitions such as Best Dressed Skipper, Story of the Day and a Best Photo contest.
The event was made possible through the generous support of local businesses and community sponsors, and all proceeds will be donated to the Women’s Centre Rodney. Organisers say the competition continues to grow in popularity each year.
Competition results: Heaviest other, Annalese Burrell; 1st snapper, Karen Adams; 1st kingfish, Rebecca Usal; best dressed skipper, Chris Morris; mystery weight snapper, Rhonda Morris; youth (under 16) mystery weight snapper, Brianna Wilmoth.
