Kaipara road crews are preparing for this summer’s reseal and rehabilitation programme while continuing routine maintenance and storm recovery work across the district.
Between 1 June and 15 July, crews graded more than 300km of unsealed roads, repaired thousands of potholes, responded to emergency callouts and cleared drainage as part of ongoing efforts to keep the district’s transport network safe and reliable.
Kaipara District Council said that with the financial year ending in June, crews focused on routine road maintenance while preparing for the next year’s work programme.
Preparation is underway for this summer’s reseal programme, with pre-seal repairs already in progress ahead of resealing work beginning in September.
Investigation, testing and design is also underway for this year’s road rehabilitation programme.
Council said Crews responded to several minor slips caused by the March and April storm events, while larger slip repairs continue to be repaired through the Kaipara District slip repair programme.

Potholes were repaired on the following roads: Arapohue Road, Avoca Road, Avocado Lane, Babylon Coast Road, Baldrock Road, Bee Bush Road, Brown Road, Campbell Terrace, Cove Road, Dunn Road, Ford Road, Gibbons Road, Golden Stairs Road, Griffin Road, Harding Park Access, Judd Road, Kaiwaka Domain Access, Kaiwaka Mangawhai Road, King Road, Lawrence Road, Mahuta Road, Marlborough Road, Maropiu Road, Maropiu Settlement Road, Marshall Road, Memorial Park Access, Mititai Road, Moir Point Road, Mountain Road, Murray Road, Omamari Road, Omana Road, Onslow Street, Opanake Road, Oruawharo Road, Paparoa Oakleigh Road, Paparoa Station Road, Parore Street, Pouto Road, Puawai Road, Pukehuia Road, Ranfurly Street, Redhill Road, Rehutai Road, Scottys Camp Road, Tangowahine Valley Road, Tara Road, Third Avenue, Tokatoka Road, Trounson Park Road, Waihue Road, Wairere Road, Whakatu Road, Woodland Place.
