Cames Road hill upgrade to improve safety in Mangawhai

Work is set to begin on upgrading a narrow, single-lane section of Cames Road in Mangawhai, with the long-awaited project aimed at improving safety and resilience for residents. The Kaipara District Council project will replace a 390-metre steep hill section with a six-metre-wide reinforced concrete surface, addressing what has been an under-engineered road that has struggled to keep pace with growing traffic volumes in the area.
