Cuisine columnist retires

Mahurangi Matters’ longest serving columnist Andrea Hinchco has called it a day.

For the past 14 years, Andrea has been writing the Cuisine column, giving advice to new and experienced cooks, and sharing her love of food.

“The shop (Taste the Kitchen Shop, in Mill Lane) is on the market and it’s time for a new direction,” she says.

Andrea and husband Mike have been active in the wine growing and retail sectors of the Mahurangi area for many years.

They sold their vineyard to 2012 and moved to Kaipara Flats, and Andrea now works as the activities coordinator at Summerset Village, while Mike runs the shop.

Mahurangi Matters thanks Andrea for her contribution to the paper over such a long period of time and wishes both her and Mike all the best.
