The Chesters store is being built by Puhoi builder Lance Smith.
Family-owned plumbing and bathroom supply business Chesters will open in Warkworth early next year.
Construction has started on the company’s 17th store, on the corner of Glenmore and Morrison Drives. It will also be the company’s most northern outlet.
Branch support Colin Chester says Warkworth was chosen for its newest store because of the growth along Mahurangi’s east coast and further north.
A branch manager has been appointed and the store is likely to employ around six staff.
Chesters was established in 1973 and its showrooms carry a large range of imported and New Zealand made bathroom fittings, heaters and accessories.
