The Adriatic Kitchen

As exotic as this little book might sound, the recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients will be familiar to most NZ cooks.

The author, Barbara Unkovic, lived on the Croatian island of Korcula for seven years where she immersed herself in the culture, history and food, and this book is obviously the result.

The recipes are presented according to the four seasons and are very much based on using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Most are simple and fuss free, and the author’s brother, Colin Unkovich, who is a Northland based artist, illustrated the book.
