Put it on your Bucket List

DMA fighter Marcus Heywood

On July 25 Dynamic Martial Arts’ Fight Night showcased kickboxing and boxing in a 12-fight event.

Fighters from as far as Gisborne travelled to compete. Head coach Dave Sawyer says fight nights have evolved over the past two years, and the club is seeing a wider range of ages and skills all keen to step into the ring.

This has lead to Dynamic Martial Arts (DMA) launching The Bucket List Boxing Fight Night. This is an eight-week boxing challenge that takes you out of your comfort zone and ends in a Fight Night on October 3 at Orewa Arts & Events Centre.

It is open to anyone (male or female) aged 18–51. DMA is looking for professions to take on professions, sports codes to take on other sports codes, Police vs Fire services. You don’t have to find an opponent – DMA will match you up on age, weight and experience.

People who have no boxing experience are preferred, but as long as you have not had an amateur or professional fight you can still participate. Info: dynamic.org.nz/sign-up.
