The summer softball season is around the corner, and the local club is hosting a Have a Go Gala Day in Orewa to get things started.
As well as a bouncy castle and face painting, there will be a chance for families to try their hand at softball – including the modified version for children called tee-ball.
The Softball Have a Go Gala is on Saturday, September 15 at Victor Eaves Park in Orewa, 10am-2pm.
The game can be played from U6, right through to senior competitive and social grades.
The club’s teams train locally and games are played at Rosedale Park in Albany on Saturdays.
The softball season runs from October to March.
