Highway maintenance this week

Motorists travelling between Warkworth and Silverdale have been advised that there are multiple highway closures scheduled from Sunday, March 15 to Friday, March 20.

Waka Kotahi/NZ Transport Agency says travellers can expect delays while the maintenance work is undertaken.

The closures are:
• Johnstones Hill tunnels – Full day and night northbound closure, from 9pm Sunday to 9pm Wednesday (March 18). Traffic will still be able to travel north using one of the southbound lanes
• Silverdale interchange to Warkworth – Full northbound closure overnight on Tuesday March 17, between 9pm and 5am. The recommended detour is via Hibiscus Coast and Old State Highway 1
• Johnstones Hill tunnels: Full southbound closure from 9pm Wednesday to 5am Friday (March 20). Traffic will still be able to travel south using one of the northbound lanes
• Warkworth to Silverdale interchange: Full southbound closure overnight on Wednesday, March 18, between 9pm and 5am. The recommended detour is via Old State Highway 1 and Hibiscus Coast Highway
