Join Dr Chris Benton in the second lecture of this series as he shifts focus to the thrilling quest for extraterrestrial life.

A retired medical doctor now active in astronomy research, Dr Benton will explore what exactly we should be searching for when it comes to finding life beyond Earth. He’ll dive into the key environmental factors scientists consider when identifying planets or moons with the potential for life— from biosignatures in an exoplanet’s atmosphere to signs of habitability on distant moons, and the exciting methods we use to detect life and determine if we’re not alone in the universe.
