Mangawhai Lions Club has announced the winners of its annual photography competition.
Supported by Shelley Boyed of Barfoot & Thompson Mangawhai, the competition was open to photographers of all skill levels. Participants could enter up to two images across four categories: landscape, nature, beach fun, and heritage.
The winners were announced at a prize giving last month. This year’s overall winner was Kath Mountain with her photograph The Godwits. Second place went to Amie Wintle’s Sunrise Surfers in the Beach Fun category, while Isla Jones’ Wax Eyes was the junior category highly commended.
Mangawhai Lions Mandy Hebben said the competition had a fantastic range of entries this year, showcasing the beauty and character of the Mangawhai region.
The top images will feature in the 2027 Mangawhai Lions fundraising calendar, with calendar proceeds going to the Mangawhai Shed.
