Healthy eating on its own can seem challenging enough, with all the options that pop up when you search how to have a healthy diet online. Then you hear that your diet should be ethical and sustainable, too. It is easy to get overwhelmed by all the headlines and messages around eating healthily and sustainably. However, by making small, mindful choices, you can eat in a way that is both sustainable and good for your health.

One of the key principles of sustainable eating is to focus on whole, minimally processed foods. These foods are not only better for the environment, but they also tend to be more nutritious. Fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds should form the foundation of your diet. Look into where your food comes from, and support those farmers who are making sustainable choices in their agricultural and horticultural practices.
